Confined Space Standby Rescue

START Group is not only involved in training personnel in confined space entry and rescue, but also provides confined space standby and rescue services. These services are provided by emergency response personnel specifically trained in technical rescue (meeting both OSHA 1910.146 and NFPA 1670 requirements) and emergency medical services (EMT and/or Paramedic certification). During these operations, START Group personnel frequently assist with, not only standby rescue activities, but also assist in safeguarding the initial entry personnel by an increased focus on OSHA 1910.146.

START Group personnel provide the confined space standby rescue activities in all entry conditions and job assignments that are site and job specific. During these activities, START Group provides the standby rescue hardware for all START Group personnel. These activities and services are tailored to the emergency preparedness needs of the client and are as follows:

  • Attendant and Entry Supervisor role
  • Standby rescue in non-IDLH environments
  • Standby rescue in IDLH environments
