Fall Protection and Prevention

Fall Protection and Prevention

Every year, workers are killed or injured in falls from elevated and/or descending (below grade) work areas. In view of these facts, OSHA developed CFR 1926 Subpart M.

START Group offers the following comprehensive training and loss control packages in fall prevention:

  • Evaluation of Current Level of Compliance - Completion of a site review of your organization’s equipment and policies regarding current means of safely operating from elevated and/or descending (below grade) work areas according to OSHA 1926 Subpart M, along with focusing on the annual inspection and program oversight roles and responsibilities of the Competent Person. In order to assist with policy and procedure development, formal written recommendations will be made regarding areas that need improvement.
  • Evaluation of Fall Prevention Locations - Completion of a review of all fall prevention locations, focusing on the application of fall prevention systems. A fall prevention inventory will be created using digital photographs. Additional written recommendations (i.e., anchor points, cable systems) will be made regarding areas that are in need of improvement.
  • Regulatory Classroom Review Session - Completion of a turn-key, classroom session informing all participants of the critical aspects of OSHA 1926 Subpart M, along with the interface of this standard with your agency’s fall prevention operations.
  • Manipulative Skills Training Session - Completion of fall prevention techniques utilizing representative fall prevention locations, along with your agency’s policies and procedures. Training will focus on fall prevention equipment orientation and use, along with actual fall prevention operations. Training will involve use of your organization's equipment, along with additional equipment provided by START Group.
